This young and remarkably talented filmmaker may well be dubbed the new golden boy of Norwegian cinema. He burst onto the scene with his second feature Syk pike (Sick of Myself) in 2022, which immediately received international attention and acclaim, including a nomination for Un Certain Regard at Cannes. He followed-up with another critics' and audience favourite in 2023, the American production Dream Scenario starring Nicolas Cage. With his distinct auteuristic style and acute observations on the peculiarities and paradoxes of modern life, Borgli is a fresh new voice in film, who additionally has demonstrated remarkable technical skill.
