The talent of Nick Nolte has often been underestimated, largely due to his not too good choice of roles throughout his career. Nolte came fairly late to prominence, breaking through with 48 Hrs. in 1982. He was a bankable star throughout the eighties but many of his best performances came in the 90s, notably in The Prince of Tides. In later years, Nolte has adapted to character roles and has shown considerable talent in films such as Hotel Rwanda.
