Gravitas, presence, and emotional depth made this tall, Northern Irish actor a natural leading man in both serious drama and action thrillers. Neeson began his career on stage and in supporting roles, but rose to international prominence with his Oscar-nominated performance in Schindler’s List (1993). He followed it up with a series of diverse roles, including historical epics, romantic dramas, and later, a successful reinvention as a grizzled action hero with the Taken franchise. Before that, he was magnificent as sexologist Alfred Kinsey in Kinsey (2004). A commanding yet introspective performer with a distinctive voice and quiet intensity.
