Some actors don't need much presentation. Tom Cruise has been a household name and a superstar for the better part of twenty years. He's one of few that has been able to make the transition from teenage heartthrob all through to (aspiring) middle-aged sex-symbol. More often seen in blockbuster leads than in challenging character roles, Cruise is more of a force and presence than he is a classically expressive actor. But he has from time to time turned in very nuanced performances - albeit rarely in other than mainstream films.
