Eddie Murphy
FILMOGRAPHY (ONLY REVIEWED ENTRIES)
This talented comedian and capable dramatic actor was one of the most bankable leading men in Hollywood during the 1980s, after making a name for himself as a stand-up comedian and SNL cast member. He made his big-screen debut in Walter Hill's 48 Hrs. in 1982, which made him an instant star. He then went on to headline the box office hits Trading Places and the Beverly Hills Cop series, while at the same time launching a music career. During the 1990s and 2000s, Murphy broadened his scope and found success also as a voice actor in animated hits such as Mulan and Shrek. He also had the dubious honour of being named "Worst Actor of the Decade" at the Golden Raspberry Awards in 2010, despite earning his one and only Academy Award nomination for Dreamgirls during the same decade. He hit back with a critically acclaimed performance as comedian Rudy Ray Moore in Dolemite Is My Name in 2019.
