Review

With a better director than Dwight Little, this politically driven police procedural could have had a reasonable place in the pantheon of Hollywood genre movies. The story isn't half-bad, and the cast is solid, with engaging turns by Wesley Snipes and Diane Lane in the leads, and nifty supporting work from Alan Alda and Ronny Cox. Little's impediment isn't how he directs his actors, but rather the overcooked 1990s style and the constantly subpar production values the film is soaked in.
