Review
Megan isn’t really missing, despite
what the title implies. The film is fashioned as a faux documentary, based on
supposed found footage from two girls’ webcams, camera phones, and some added
newsreels. Unfortunately, the faux feel ultimately transfers to faux horror in
the faux exploitation subgenre. Not even the overlong, exploitative finale has
any real sting to it. The subpar craftsmanship and budget keep the picture
continually underwhelming – alas, because the girls’ committed performances and
the topical subject matter could have warranted a much better and more effective
end result.
