Review

The jackasses are back for one final hoopla – older, wiser and more cultured. Well, no, not really. They are greyer and maybe not quite as bubbly, but otherwise everything is just like before. Fans of the franchise will get exactly what they came for with equal measures painful stunts, elaborate pranks and nauseating poop and sperm play. If there's one thing underlining why Jackass Forever probably will and should be their final show, it's the fact that Johnny Knoxville and his compatriots seem to spend a little more time bullying some of their colleagues and a little less time simply having fun together. The more free-spirited tone of Jackass 3D isn't completely gone, but definitely dwindled. And of course, there's something missing with the absences of the late Ryan Dunn and the fired Bam Margera. Their replacements seem more like fan boys joining in than anything else. Kudos for the opening set-piece, which is one of their best.
