Review
The makers of the embarrassing splatter spoof
Kill Buljo
return with this Nazi splatter comedy. Director Tommy Wirkola still has
little relevant or original to convey, but this time he has at least
garnered enough experience and financial backing to create a professional
and technically
impressive film in which dead Nazis line up in numbers to fight off a
resilient group of Norwegian medical students. There is little real
suspense, and the script is boringly conventional in structure and
motifs, but Wirkola does come up with a couple of brilliantly original
moves that amuse and delight. And the visuals are stylish, with
cinematographer Matthew Weston working with a beautiful colour palette.
Too bad, then, that on an intellectual and artistic level, Wirkola's
work still is very much insignificant.
