Review

With its all-female cast and at least well-thought-out logic in the realm of the inexplicable, there are times The Descent aspires to be a decent horror film. The premise isn't all that bad either, despite its obvious "youngsters-venture-into-places-they-shouldn't-be" nature. Still, the film manages to run through almost every cliché imaginable, and there are so many inane jump-scares in here that you will have gained immunity by the time the bad guys show up. Of the performances, Shauna MacDonald's is definitely the most fun. The underground scenes were shot in a London studio – and unfortunately not in a terribly impressive manner.
