Review

An original plot and a miscast, unbridled Jim Carrey form the basis for this message comedy by Ben Stiller. There's thinly veiled media criticism intertwined with dark comedy, which despite (or perhaps because of) Carrey's presence falls flat and gives the film a sluggish, wearisome quality. A different approach – and lead actor – might have made this one interesting.
