Review

This 1996 box-office failure is over-the-top, all-over-the-place great fun. Writer/director Matthew Bright is as clever as he is unabashed. His biggest achievement here is how he varies between playing it straight and piling it on. And the result is a wild, raucous film boasting a loud, confident teenage Reese Witherspoon at full bloom, and a delicately creepy Kiefer Sutherland as the aptly named Bob Wolverton. Some films turn out to have nothing to say, Freeway says it all at once – with outside voice.
